Marie O’Neill: Decanates – What are they and why use them?
The use of decanates has been around since Ptolemy. It was recognized in ancient times that the 48 constellations along with the 12 signs and 36 extra-zodiacal constellations were decans; which comes from the Greek word meaning ‘ten’. Therefore, each decanate is a ten degree section of the zodiac.
Decanates add another layer of understanding to the signs of the zodiac. In this 45 minute session the focus is on describing how they work and giving a few demonstrations using the participants in the audience.
Ryan Evans: Seasonal Archetypology
In this talk, Ryan will describe how Astrology should really be called ‘Seasonal Archetypology’ wherein the Astrological symbolism is found in the rhythm of the seasons and the projected mythos of the planetary archetypes traveling through their seasonal influences as opposed to traveling through ever precessing starlight. Showing the ‘interconnectedness of all things’ from early human culture to Quantum Physics we’ll see that the Astrological Archetypes permeate our being and learn how to best blend with them.
James Eyerman: Pleasing the Planets: Vedic and Ayurvedic Remedies for Grouchy Grahas (Planets)
Remedies in Vedic Astrology and Ayurvedic Astrology balance the the energies of the horoscope (cosmic body) for the Self Realization. Gems, mantras, rituals, and herbs are some of the remedies that will be explored.
