Gain important insights on the year ahead.

Rio will be focusing on the transits of the New Year and how they can be utilized to affect change and growth in both the collective and person spheres.
He will focus on the outer 5 planets, noting what happened during similar alignments in the past that help to determine how these energies can be utilized in the future. Utilizing the Sibley chart of the United States as well as the chart of Donald Trump, he will assess potentials for political, sociological and environmental change. Most important, he will discuss how we can utilize these influences for the purpose of consciousness development and personal growth. He will also play his didgeridoo!

Steve will take a detailed look at the astrological landscape of 2018 looking at transits, major planetary aspects and eclipses. Techniques used will include the 90 Degree Dial, Graphic Ephemeris and Astrocartography Maps. There'll be insightful information you probably won't find elsewhere. Upcoming hotspots will be revealed. The context of the year ahead in terms of long range cycles of the five outer planets will also be addressed.

Rio Olesky received a Bachelor’s Degree in humanities from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master’s Degree in humanities from San Francisco State University. He has been a serious student of astrology since 1967 and a professional astrologer since 1976.

Rio also writes monthly columns for local and national publications. He gives lectures and has been on radio and television talk shows. Rio’s Beginning Astrology classes are held at Santa Rosa Junior College and his intermediate classes are held at New Horizons School, in Santa Rosa. Both classes have been ongoing since the mid-70’s.

Although his primary focus is spiritual (he has been a practitioner of Kriya Yoga since 1975), Rio also brings to his readings the experience of being a husband, father and grandfather. He is also an accomplished didgeridoo player.

Steve is owner of Sun Recording Service. He began studying Astrology in 1976 and has maintained an Astrological Consultation Service since 1979. His personal approach to Astrology combines contemporary methods with Uranian Techniques. He became a certified Astro-Cartographer in 1985 and received his Professional Astrological Certification from ISAR at the ISAR 2000 conference.

Steve is producer of the Star Dial System, a 90 degree dial designed by Arlene Kramer. He coordinated National Astrology Conferences for NCGR in 1985 and 1991. Steve is a member of NCGR, ISAR, AFA, AFAN and SFAS. He was President of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of NCGR from 1985-2015 and now serves as President Emeritus on the Board.

He has lectured on Uranian Astrology, Cosmobiology, and Astronomy for Astrologers for local astrology organizations and astrological conferences, including UAC, AFA, AFAN, NCGR, ISAR and SWAC.

Steve's love for astrology and drive to preserve the information presented at lectures, workshops and conferences began in the late 1970's. His recording equipment has evolved over the years from a single Marantz Cassette Recorder to a multi-channel mobile digital studio which clearly records both speaker content and audience interactions.
